United States Mint San Francisco



I was wondering what this big building located higher up at Market Street, is. Now I know. It is the
United States Mint at San Francisco. This building was built in 1937 and workers moved from the old facility to this new building. I hope I'll be able to take a picture of the old building, which is turned into a museum, too.

    Somewhat austere looking but imposing sitting up high.

    It looks like a fortress! Which a mint needs to be, I guess.
