The photo shows how streets, well in this example the 24th street, are laid out in straight lines. This street is one example, but others are the same, so that they form a grid and it's easy to orientate.

I love the Mission District. I dated a guy who lived on 21st street. I am shocked that parking seems to be ample in that picture.
